I have a friend with a 1976 Ford Bronco with a 351w in it. The motor is not original and he was told it came from a '69 Ford car with a 4 barrel. He would like to know if this is true or not. His engine code is: C90E-6015-B . If anyone knows how to decode engine codes can help us out, please get back with me!!!

Yep sounds like a good engine Very high Nickle content. Good for up to 600 HP.
I just sold my 69 block this weekend. I miss it...
Ok so this answers one question we had, now how can we tell if the heads match the motor or not? I don't think that makes much difference in the long run, however he wants to know if the motor is pure '69 or not. Any ideas?
Any early 351w Heads with large Plugs are the fav's. All have the dogleg coolant passeges. The years that are 4V are 69 - 74.
Any of these heads out flow the GT40 heads with a little bowl work.
The later truck heads are OK just need more work on the exh. side.
Thanks for the help guys, my buddy and I have cracked the case and we have determined that he has a full '69 motor, which is what he wanted. I think also he has decided to go ahead and do a full port/polish on the heads with a 3 angle valve job as well.

Do not polish the Intake side just clean up casting & port match. Need a little ruffness to keep the fuel tumblin in the runner to keep in mixed up.
Nice to have that engine. I think it was 265 HP new.
