I lived in Bullhead City for 5 years, about 15 miles west of golden valley. in a word, golden Valley, Kingman, Bullhead city. filled with a lot of people too stupid to leave.
ok that sounds harsh but it is what I saw. My neighbor was a Mohave county sheriff detective and he told me that he could go into 75% of the homes in the area and arrest them for drug possession, drug paraphernalia, manufacturing drugs, or possession with intent to sell.
from working in the medical field everyone ( in the medical field) knew the HIV and aids was at epidemic perorations and most would go so far as to wear 2 pairs of gloves.
very high transient area, many homeless, most jobless, most gambling in laughlin and guess what? when they need money they steal your stuff and hawk it at the pawn shops. so you get to go to the pawn shops and get a great deal on your own tools.
now don't get me wrong there are a lot of great people in that area, and you will get dried out, something about being 125 degrees and the wind blowing 30 miles per hour tends to dry you out.
if you do decide to move be sure to join the Arizona Chapter.
Thanks for the heads up ... Any locations you would suggest ... Preferably not Tucson or Phoenix ... I hate big cities ... Of course I could always open a pawn shop ...

the only problem with living out in the smaller town's is work, most times you end up driving to the bigger citys IE... Tucson or Phoenix for a job! that gets old real fast, not to mention now your spending more on gas, that cuts down on beer money
Morning everyone.... another beautiful day is here.
Yea Bill. Driving from North West Glendale to Chandler every day sucked......
At least it is cut in half now only 22 miles in stead of 44.
No matter where you choose to live there is opposition, I came form Eastern PA and have found the north valley to be decent. The City (Hazleton) i came from has a higher crime rate per population than Phoenix!.
looked last night like we would get hammered but it is still dry this morning.
I guess I will see rain today. we are going to Phoenix in a little while and than to Yuma and than home.

I take offense to this statement, I have lived outside Kingman Arizona for the past 18 years and enjoy it immensely.
I guess it all depends on where and who you hang out with.
I moved to Kingman from Olympia Washington. I have worked every day I have lived here, (haven't had a vacation for the past 3 years as have been too busy.) I own an acreage with a beautiful view of the Hualapai mountain range (something that I could have never dreamed of owning in the past in Olympia or San Diego where I grew up.) I can leave my back property and walk for miles with my dogs and not see anyone.
I moved to Kingman because i knew I couldn't stand framing structures at 115 temps (like in Bullhead or Havasu), but have worked in Bullhead and Lake Havasu city many many summers - including the day the temp hit the record 128 in Lake Havasu City. Not a fan of heat, but the lifestyle is worth it.
So you didn't like it here, that's your choice, but keep your rude opinions to yourself.
Everyone is entitled to there own opionion, J. whether you agree with them is up to you. I know Bart personaly, he is very upstanding. so, take it with a grain of salt... i'm sure he wasn't talking about you persay. every town has it's up's and down's. I do not think he ment any harm.
