jfmaz ... I am here at the mouth of the Columbia ... You sure you don't miss the rain? ... We just had another nice storm ... Neighbor lost 2 trees ... Down the road another guy lost one tree and it took out his nice new wooden fence ... Flood and high wind watches out last 2 days ...

I think I might look around the Toprock area ... That and maybe Quartzite ...

I take offense to this statement, I have lived outside Kingman Arizona for the past 18 years and enjoy it immensely.

I guess it all depends on where and who you hang out with.

I moved to Kingman from Olympia Washington. I have worked every day I have lived here, (haven't had a vacation for the past 3 years as have been too busy.) I own an acreage with a beautiful view of the Hualapai mountain range (something that I could have never dreamed of owning in the past in Olympia or San Diego where I grew up.) I can leave my back property and walk for miles with my dogs and not see anyone.
I moved to Kingman because i knew I couldn't stand framing structures at 115 temps (like in Bullhead or Havasu), but have worked in Bullhead and Lake Havasu city many many summers - including the day the temp hit the record 128 in Lake Havasu City. Not a fan of heat, but the lifestyle is worth it.

So you didn't like it here, that's your choice, but keep your rude opinions to yourself.
If you took my post as a slam to you I apologize!
as for my opinion, Jim asked for it and I gave it to him.
don't like it or think it is right post yours up!

I lived in both Bullhead & Kingman. I understand Bart's feelings. I liked Kingman much better than Bullhead City. But the schools in Bullhead are better. Golden Valley is the drug, murder capital of western Arizona, & those people seem to be all over. Kingman does a good job of competing with Golden Valley at times. I liked living in Kingman & have friends there. But most likely will never move back to Kingman unless there is a major overhaul of the school systems. Kingman Acadmey is not a bad school but you have to be in the click of the owner to work there as a teacher. It is pretty much a closed shop which in time hurts a school. The Kingman public school is a joke. My wife worked for Diamondback in Bullhead & that was a great school for students, parents, & teachers.
I hope you don't take my opinion as offensive, It is just my observations & experience.
Craig

Thanks Bruce! I think i'm better off then many small business owners out there... no overhead, less than 22 months to pay on the wifes truck and then all i have is 50000 left on the arce+, everything else is paid for. if things pick up maybe 8 years left? i'll be 54-55 by then and out of debt completely.

Hi Bill,
We aren't that bad right now. This month has been much better than Dec. After -20 below zero with highs in the 20s, in fact all of Dec we never got above 30 degrees for a high. We are back to highs in the 40s with lows in the 20s-30s. There are several storms on track to dump up to 15' in the Sierra's has only left us with rain for now. We could see more snow later this week & next.
Bill, do you know where the teacher works you did some work for that told you her school needed Special Ed teachers? Vici is filling out apps for next year. She doesn't want to return to where she is teaching now. We have decided to head back south. She has applied in Las Vegas & Casa Grande so far. She feels Las Vegas wants her, but she wants to look at other options also. Anyway you can PM me if you have any info. Thanks Craig
