Bill, do you know where the teacher works you did some work for that told you her school needed Special Ed teachers? Vici is filling out apps for next year. She doesn't want to return to where she is teaching now. We have decided to head back south. She has applied in Las Vegas & Casa Grande so far. She feels Las Vegas wants her, but she wants to look at other options also. Anyway you can PM me if you have any info. Thanks Craig
Marana unified school district. they are the best in this area.

It's so nice to be home that I forgot to check-in. I love the fact that it's been absolutely beautiful these two days and that the rain has waited 'til later in the day. Why would you want to live anywhere else.

It looks like my Bronco is sold, except for a small snag with the title. When I paid off the loan in '01, the credit union sent the lien release. But, having moved 5 or 7 times since then, I have no idea where it is, and since I was "living" in OH at the time, I never had a new title issued to clear it. So we're waiting on the c.u. in SoCal to send me a new release. Real nice gent from Peeple's Valley is buying it. I think he'll take good care of my baby. Hopefully I don't get too misty eyed when I have to leave it behind.

Thanks Bill & Bart. She received a call from Las Vegas this afternoon wanting to move her phone interview up to ASAP. So that looks good considering she just applied two days ago. She has run into a small problem in Arizona. That is that most of the jobs on the State Education Job Board are OPEN for immediate filling. They aren't hiring for next year yet. Since she is under contract until June they are telling her to check the board for openings later this year for next year. She just heard that from Casa Grande who has three openings. So I don't know where they are getting teachers unless they break their present contracts or fill with subs. Because with so many openings why wouldn't ALL SPED teachers that want to work be already working.
Las Vegas can't get enough teachers let alone SPED teachers that if they decide they want Vici I expect them to offer her a "letter of intent". In Nevada a letter of intent is binding. Once she signs a "letter of intent" she is committed unless the district is willing to release her. Without a release she could face sanctions from the Nevada Dept of ED. Nevada has a very strong teachers union. They are the strongest union in the State. So we will see what happens. But she really can't apply in Arizona until they start advertising for next year which will be sometime in April. Now I understand why Arizona had over 100 SPED jobs open after the school started this year, (2009-10).
So if you guys hear different or a school that is interested in talking to her now for next year (2010-11) please let us know.

Craig

Good morning Everyone, Cloudy & 33 degrees here. They keep saying it is going to snow but so far it has missed us Thank God. I guess Lake Tahoe is really getting it. When Bruce checks in we can find out.
I'm headed to the Nevada Chapter.
