the delayed reverse issue really isnt an issue at all
harsh reverse engagments were an issue so the reverse engagment issue was resolved through tcm programmed strategy
it gives the impression of a delayed engagment to provide a smooth engagment
remember not everyone likes shift harshness especially when purchasing the truck new, it wasnt acceptable
that quote from their web site contradicts itself
they stated the reverse clutch cicuit is thirsty and at the end talk about installing a restrictor in the reverse clutch
a restrictor will only slow and soften a clutch application not improve it
aftermarket restrictors were used on some early gasoline equipped E4OD,s that the pcm strategy caused a harsh reverse engagment so it was used to slow and soften the reverse engagement
cooler flow on the E4OD has absolutely nothing to do with gear selection i,m curious where this non-sense was started , for those that doubt it just find a hydraulic schematic
the only trans i know of that is affected by gear position is a dodge unit
they only have cooler flow in gear , but i could care less about them ,not my specialty
also my E4OD has the percieved delayed reverse engagment . i know it is normal and have no desire to try and change it , less wear and tear on expensive parts

Thats why I posted this here you guys are full of good info. I just posted that link to the eagle red kit to show what I was talking about I've found that kit much cheaper elswhere. I mostly want the baumann kit for the planitaries and center suports the billet shafts are just an added bonus.

From what Ford Trans tech has said I will definatly be going with the precision of new hampton convertor.

Shopping is always a good thing when dealing with Alto parts. Some places are higher then others. Always compare the kits. None are the same.

Now for the billet shafts. You don't need them. Unless your planing on hitting the 500 hp mark or better. I don't think you will see that with an IDI. The updated hardened shafts will do fine. Save some buck$.
