Well after using the SEARCH function in this beautiful forum i belive i have pin pointed my 4x4 question. I know for a fact the T case works, and i have already had one vacuum line replaced because of the grinding. the t case works, the light comes on, on the dash, but the front dose not lock in. neither side, so i figure it is the solenoid, and plus i read it is only 30-40 dollars to replace.
witch brings me to my question, how do i explane it to the guy at the parts depo so i get what i need? I try and avoid the local dealership at all costs (long story) so i need to be able to explane it in a way that i get what i need. Is this 100% necessary? maybe not but i hate being the jacka$$ at the store that sounds like he has no idea what he is talking about. so a little help so i only look like a a$$ on the net?
before you order the part though, you can confirm that the iwe's are locking to the hubs by trying to turn them with the engine off, in 2wd. with no vacuum, they should lock, and wont turn (as long as the wheels are on the ground).
oh wow i never thought of that. thanks man i will try that tomorrow. and thanks for the link too. man i should have asked earlier, i have known it has not been working for 3 weeks. lol thanks again.
i think that solenoid is a dealer only part, so i think your limited to going to your dealership (which if you have one close, and i know you dont want to go, you could have it all fixed in about an hour, cause they more than likely have them in stock) or order online like the above poster stated. i dont think part stores have access to these.
alright thank you, i am probably going to just order it online. I live way out of town and it would just be easier to get it shipped here and do it my self. I have lots of time it is just money that is the problem.
