When putting a programmer on a 6.0L the thing you must be careful with is excess cylinder pressure. Eric at ID is good to work with on that. If you tell them what you want you'll get it. If you are looking to increase fuel econmy on a 6.0L a programmer won't net you much. It seems that the key to fuel economy is in the FICM and the rest of the fuel system being good. But the SCT with custom tunes will help transmission shifting and torque converter lockup strategies. And you can get only the tranny strategies with SCT if you're concerned with warranty issues. The hardest thing on FICM's seems to be batteries and charging system related problems. In my opinion, the 6.0L has enough power stock. Tranny strategies and t/c lockup strategies can be improved upon. Ford can tell that a programmer has been used if they dig deep enough. So if you are concerned about keeping your warranty, don't program unless you are willing to assume full responsibility (cost) associated with using a programmer.
Now what exactly do you mean by getting a good one? I have been considering purchasing the livewire. By doing research on here I've heard better things about SCT than I have Spartan.
And speaking of the HPOP gauge, somebody posted that Diesel Manor had them and when I looked they did. That was a year or so ago and when I went back to buy it, they were gone. So does anybody know who is now selling the electric HPOP guage?
