Edge-Insight parameters???
first screen has the fun stuff, EGT, EOT, ECT, and Boost. Now the other screens
I've found this cool stuff but not really sure what i'm looking at.
IAT. Intake air temp I guess,, why is that important??
Inj-pw. I guess thats injector pulse,, but is there anything i need to watch for??
Turbine speed. Turbo???
Shift speed. ???
TQ slip. darn,, hate for anything to slip??
ABS Pedld. this is these cool little grafts, that increase and decrease
So after yall stop laughing, lol. any help would be great,, just if i have these things
I"d like to know what to look for. Or,, for you guys that has this monitor, is there
anything else i should look for and maybe replace instead of the screens I have.
I guess this could get long,,no rush,, thanks in advance... Herb

EGT|TFT
ECT|EOT
That's the only one I have memorized, but some other stuff I monitor are:
Codes (shows any codes or 0 if none found)
Fuel level (shows in percentage how much fuel is left)
Torque Converter slip (this one shows me how many RPMs difference between TC input and output, which lets me know when the TC is locked)
IAT (temp of incoming air at the MAF sensor, which is a rough equivalent to ambient temp)
IAT#2 which is temp of air within the intake manifold (tracks changes in temp due to EGR flow)
EGR commanded % (tells me when the EGR is flowing, and roughly how much)
I also look at injector pulse width, but haven't found any useful translation for the data
Voltage at the PCM
Engine RPM (more precise than the analog tac)
Boost
Runtime (time since the last start)
MPH (more accurate than the speedometer. How can that be?)
Engine Load (interesting to watch when turning on A/C, turning the steering wheel, etc.)
BTW, Turbine Speed is not the trubo. It is an RPM inside the transmission.
I don't think it's necessary in of itself more precise then the gauges on the cluster, it's more of the method of display that makes it seem like it's more accurate.
In some spots you have to guess what the tach is reading or what the speed is, yet with the digital readout, you either know in whole numbers or in some cases down to the tenth what the readout is. That's more of a display issue, not necessary rather or not the probe is or isn't accurate.

But I disagree on the speedometer. The PCM definitely has a more accurate value on the speedometer. For example, my dash speedometer is off 2-3 MPH at 65. I know that by my GPS, and it is easy to see the error on the dash needle. But the Insight agrees exactly with the GPS. This tells me that the PCM is accurate, but for some reason Ford chooses to display it with an error. It has been observed by many that Ford speedos will be off by this much. Some believe it is done purposely to lower warranty costs. It might also be an error intended to avoid litigation from drivers who may be cited for speeding. Whatever their reasons, the error always is in their favor, not ours.
It's not a particularly valuable display on the Insight, but it is interesting at least. It takes some creative thinking to fill 16 spaces on the Insight with useful PID's. Some spots end up not being of much value.
What has worked best for the contrast for you guys? What shows up great on my computer is not the same after it is downloaded to the insight.
