P0678? What do you think

Ok just Finnished head job. Truck runs great just long crank to start (6 sec). Put the ae on it and came up with this code for cylinder 8 glow plug circuit. Do you think it's the harness or controler. it is an old controller (not the one that was on the truck when started head job). Or what eles could it be. They are brand new glow plugs. I put them in on the head job.

new does not always equal good. ohm out the buss bar from the 4 pin to ground. each pin should be 2 ohms or less. if thats good suspect controller.

Probably a long shot, but I have heard that sometimes the use of di-electric grease can help make a good connection at the harness.

Use some circuit cleaner (Radio Shack, electronics store) on the contacts before the dielectric grease (eg lithium grease).

I worked wonders with this method.

Yep you were right on #8 plug failed test replaced it and now runs great. I even tell pepole all the time that new isn't always good. Guess should have taken my own advise thanks again

A dielectric is actually an insulator and not a conductor.

The dielectric grease help the contacts move / slide, and in doing so, removes and inhibits corrosion for a better contact.

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD CONDUCTIVE GREASE (e.g. grease with graphite) BE USED.

You are looking at shorting out the entire harness!!!!!

Oh I totally agree. The dielectric grease does help keep moisture out and it helps prevent arching in high voltages like spark plugs and wires.
