No, but to get that lower hose from the pump to the filter you might need to remove the filter housing. Here is a good write up on that ... also what is the problem?
no you dont have to take it off you need a big wrench to get in there i thinlk its 1 and 1/4 and another thing is when you put it back in you should put some teflon tape on it, now note do not put the teflon tape on the threads of the big bolt put the bolt in and when you have it almost in maybe a 1/4 inch or so out maybe more thats when you put the teflon tape on it will save you some time and it will prevent it from ever eaking, if you put it on the threads it could pull the tape through the pump so good luck. I just unbolted the fuel pool and pulled it pver and also you should replace all the blue fuel lines while your there.
Hussler: well there is no fuel coming up into the fuel filter bowl. we replaced the fuel selector since it was broke and cleaned out both fuel tanks. The lines got froze but they eventually inthawed and we heated them but still no fuel to the fuel filter bowl. we think the fuel pump is bad
This is probably a dumb question but did you unbolt the banjo bolt. 2x on the plunger turn the motor over by hand , if you can till, it pushes the pump up so the plunger doesn't fall down in the motor.
i would turn the motor over like Iallwork said and just let the cam lobe do the work for you. as long as you are positive that you got all of the bolts holding it down off, i believe that it is one on each side and then the 1 1/4" banjo bolt on the back and then the two fuel lines to the fuel bowl.
ya you have to turn it over a couple times and give it a good yank but do not drop the plunger into the motor if you do you will be screwed so if you have it done already than good but be carefull. give it a good steady pull after you turn the motor over hard and stedy that will get it i just did mine so good luck
