so i bumped into a guy last night that has an 80's bronco, i believe its an 84. he's been trying to get me to buy it since i first met him a few years back and mentioned i liked it. he's a weird drunk guy, but he was semi coherent last night. he has always told me $2500, then last night he says throw him a grand and its mine cause he's tired of it just sitting at the farm doing nothing. i'm going to go check it out today because i haven't seen it in a good 6 months or better, it was in pretty good shape from what i recall. has a rebuilt 351w thats supposed to be warmed up a little, and i believe it comes with a plow, which i don't want or need so i can sell it off to get some moniez back.
the big kicker is that after i mentioned it to the wife a few hours go by, and she says if it is in good working condition i can buy it for our family vehicle and get rid of the cavalier. so i gotta say my wife is pretty effing awesome.
i guess she has always had a car crush on broncos. she says they are cute and cool because the tops come off, but she thinks convertible cars are ghey. big bonus is that i have the brand new rims and 33's on the 78 for this other one. i didn't really wanna sell them off when i started on the 1 ton swap anyways, but i wasn't gonna have a use for a set of 33's anymore. life is working out pretty cool lately, which can only mean something bad is coming.

DAN
Snow plow = salt = all kinds of rust and electrical problems.
Last week you realized a superduty was too big and bad on gas to be a family vehicle, but now a bronco that is going to get probably the same or worse gas mileage is okay?? Not to mention it's not going to be reliable at all if you're driving it daily and it has been used as a plow truck and is that old.

it wasn't used as an actual plow truck paul. it just has a plow iirc. just like my dads truck, he has a plow and has maybe used it 6 times in 10+ years.
as to the mileage, the wife and i sat back and came to the conclusion that we go to town way more often then needed just for nothing. a little bit of planning will cut down on wasted trips. and another reason i go shopping so damn much is because the cavalier is too damn small to do all the shopping at once, so i have to make multiple trips, which cuts the mileage in half if you think about it, which isn't too far off from what the bronco would get.
i live in illinois, everything that is over 10 years old has hidden rust issues, and as a plus i pretty much know a 80-86 inside and out from owning and working on my 85 for 7 years.
