so as much as i want the bronco to get done and be a fun toy, i also really need a new daily driver family rig. found this while looking for tires and want it because it is A. a killer deal for $4400 imo even with 196xxx on the ticker and B. its a killer deal C. its shiny and stuff, rednecks is always attracted to shiny stuff 99 7.3 diesel auto 4x4 36's on 20's yo'.
what would you guys do in my situation? buy this or put money into the bronco and buy a cheap minivan/car for the family?

dan I have a 2000 F250 with a 7.3 and love it. I average around 17mpg etc. oil changes are expensive BUT I only change at 7500 miles on the diesel.
196k isn't an absorbanent amount of miles on a 7.3, plus being a 99 it still has forged rods (that was changed in late 2000, mine luckily was an early 2000)
Bad... Check the trans. the Torque converters are the main weak link and they are around a grand. a full trans rebuild will cost aroun $4k so look at the fluid and ask what has been done (and if a tuner has been used)
The price is WAY low so look closely but yeah good deal. Clean retail according to NADA is around $12,900, low trade is $7700 just to give you an example.
Edit, and tom beat me to it.

rob, you might wanna dial up bill(cowboy) i posted this over there and he has some interest in the truck. maybe you and he could set something up if he calls on it and likes what he hears.
i kind of jumped the gun as usual. the mpg's would be a significant drop from my cavalier, almost by half, and as cool and nice as it is, i just don't see it working for us as a dd. nice truck if it isn't a tranny waiting to drop.

Just so no one gets caught by looking at that truck. As it was noticed elsewhere that is a scam.
The ad Dan found lists it as springfield IL.
and here it is listed in Cumming GA
FORD F250 4X4 73L POWESTROKE DIESEL (Cumming, GA) $4400 – Toyota For Sale
and found it in Dallas, Phoenix, and Detroit.
