just wondering how much horsepower and torque my 4R100 can handle..just with doing an occasional local truck pull..i was looking into casserly stage IIs, GTP38R, adrealine. itp reg return, dp tuner..roughly how much power to the wheels with this combo give me?? and would i require a tranny rebuild to hold this power??

Expect to be in the neighborhood of 400 hp.... but don't expect the stock trans to last very long, especially with a truck pull. It's pretty easy to toast the stock trans with nothing more than a chip on stock injectors.
A few folks have gotten away with upgrading the torque converter and valve body on the stock trans, and run Stage II's. It's cheaper than a fully built trans, but not quite as strong. Still, it's beefier than stock.
i live around pittsburgh, i'm trying to find someone that would build the tranny thats in my truck, i would love to have a BTS or JW its just forking out the money for one of them is the problem..soo just trying to find a good tranny builder in my area to build the one in my truck

Often times those local shops end up being more expensive than a BTS or JW trans. So many horror stories. There's a thread on another forum... guy had a local shop build his trans, and toasted it once already after just a few months. Shop covered it, but he got it back and it has more problems. Shop started the usual blame game, where everything else but the trans is to blame. Happens way too often.
Personally, I think the little bit of extra cash up front is worth all the peace of mind. BTS and JW have a reputation for a reason.
i agree with Joe on this one...or even the JW VB...from what i read ppl have good results with them...I'm looking for the 6.0L cooler myself. kinda hard to find tho...on that note is there anywhere I could find one or buy a cooler new at a decent price?
what are some prices to get a tranny built from either JW or BTS anyone have one built before?? and i'm guessing that price dont include a torque converter...
this may be sumthen you might want to ask Mark or call suncoast...great bunch of guys over there. i was told the triple disk converter is useless if you dont build up the rest of the tranny. dont know for sure? Clay said the jwvb works great with the dp tuner, wonder how it works without the tuner?

I have a BTS. Currently, I am told that it is about $4100. BTS will warranty the trans for 2 yrs, no mileage limit or power levels. After that, you pay for the shipping to him and he will fix it for free.
mmm i called both places and didnt get an answer..but i guess i'll call around to suncoast, BTS, john wood....ATS is wayyyyy over priced i believe
Last time I was at BTS, Brian would answer your questions on his break time. He had no less than 5 stickies of people to get back to. I suggest holding for him.
