to any guys that are runinng this kit or have knowledge of it- what resistor is supplied to replace the epc solonoid to keep teh od light from flashing? i have ohms the epc and come up with roughly 500 ohms. is this the same size resistor that comes in the kit or do they use something else?

What kit is this?
You can mimic a solen with a 3 to 5 ohm power resistor.
(to pass a pcm fault)
Has to be a wire wound resistor P resistor.
Here is a part #FST-25. This is 5 ohm.
a 5 ohm is all i need? i ohms the epc solonid and it is around 500 ohms. i dont risk any issues with the pcm only having a 5 ohm installed?
and the kit is my usual- homemade. i know that the kit like tj has "ese eliminator" uses a resistor that you solder in to mimic the epc solonoid to keep teh light off. i need to get one for my truck to keep the light out. got to get to radioshack to see what i can find
i'm sure i will catch some flac for it but yes, i am playing with my line pressure and have some nice shifts going with my drilled accumulator body, just need to get teh power resistor installed so the pcm stays in a good mood.
my goal is to firm up the tc engagements more then anything and also the downshift engagements, i am pretty happy with my upshifts from just drilling the accumulator but i am always open for more improvements. again, i am pretty happy with it right now but i want to get a gauge on teh truck and get some pressure readings at different voltages.
my way is simple as i am sitting on constant voltages so its not as complex as the ese kit but i am not looking for a varying pressure, i am fine with the fixed voltage controling the pressure
Are you shooting for firmer or quicker lock? Both?
As you mod the avb for firm and quick for the actual
shiftpoints you then open the door and see how
much the tc laggs. The lagging tc is hidden with the
soft/longer shiftpoints.
i am looking for a firmed shift, especially on the tc clutch. the tran's shifts are crisp and quick with the accumulator drilling, but as you said it allows you to see ford's excellent tc programmig design. the higher line pressure and consistant line pressure makes a huge difference in my truck. only drawback for some people is it will bark the tires at every shift now.....lol
