defrost problems

1985 f250 7.3 idi navistar diesel. just replaced heater core no more leak. i have everything works, floor vent mix but not defrost it somes out on the floor. any ideas

Do you have Factory A/C, or did the truck have Factory A/C at one time?

If the truck doesnt have Factory A/C does it have a standard or deluxe Hi Output heater?

It can be a number of things, but will need to know which system you have...

factory ac it has been removed i dont know about standard or ho or not i just got a new heater core and didnt say anything about standard or high output

the cable from your off/heat/ def has come unhooked.look at the heater box on top of where the heater core goes in from under the hood and make sure the cable is hooked up, and working.

If he's still using the Factory A/C heater box, the controls are vacuum operated. One of the vacuum lines could have came unhooked or broke during the heater core install.
