Replacing Mirrors
I have 99 Exped. Eddie Bauer with the power, heated, signal mirrors. They are faded so badly that they are unsafe. Can I replace with just power and heated, no signal? Signal mirrors prices are outrageous.

I have never done this but I assume that it could be done. You would just replace the mirror and not use the heated power wire. The only problem I would see doing this is if the turn signal light and the heated power wire are in the same connector, In that case I wouild try to take apart the connector and remove wire for the heated mirrors. Another option would be to remove the fuse for the heated mirrors that way you shouldn't have to remove the wire from the connector. Like I said I am not sure if any of what I said will work, just going off prior knowledge

At one time the Muth mirror company was replacing the mirror glass in Expeditions for free. I called them myself and they confirmed it. I believe you order a new set of mirror glass, and they charge your credit card. When you send back your damaged glass they remove the charge. I don't know the phone number, but I'm sure you can google it. Give it a shot.
