I am replacing my mirrors with aftermarket mirrors. Originals have turn signals, memory, heat, remote, manual folding controlled by 11 wires. My after market (yeah I'm cheap) have heat, remote, manual folding controlled by 5 wires. No turn signals or memory on the replacements.
Does anyone have a wiring diagram so I can rewire the old plug on the new mirrors with the 5 wires matching the required control wires on the car without having to guess and fool around too much.
Maybe a diagram for both the basic model and the 'loaded' mirror model would be good.
I think the above signal / heated will be a good start - a lot better than a SWAG. Thanks. I'm gonna guess the other leads on my truck are the memory. All I need to do is find the motor and heat. Don't even really need the heat out here in AZ, but it was on there when I bought it.
Some progress, looking to see if anybody can help me with the color coding on the 11 wire plug for the original mirrors with signal memory heat and motion (not folding). This is passenger / left side.
Mirror plug wire colors:
green - heat
white / blue stripe - turn signal (no longer used)
black - ground (in all probability)
green / white stripe - ?
pink (red?) - ?
white / red stripe - ?
green - ?
gray - ?
purple / white stripe - ?
green / purple stripe -?
gray /red stripe - ?
white / green stripe - ?
DG/VT.......Heat Feed
GY............Position Sensor Common
BK............Ground
DG/WH......Left/Right Sensor
WH/VT......Up/Down Motor Common
GY/RD.......Mirror Position Sensor Feed
DG............Left/Right Motor (B+ = Right)
VT/WH......Up/Down Position Sensor
VT............Up/Down Motor (B+ = Up)
WH/LB.......Right Front Turn Signal Lamp
WH/LG.......Left/Right Motor common
Thanks! I'm guessing those marked sensor are for the memory which leaves me with 4 wires to control the mirror movement itself plus ground and the already identified heat.
If someone had the coding for my aftermarket six wire it would be even easier.
This is more of a challenge than I thought it would be. I started on the passenger side which was a mistake since I have to contort to check voltages and fiddle with the control on the driver side door. Found heat (easy) but the motion is a challenge. I had it going side to side but up / down wasn't working. Moved wires around and got it so it would go one way right/left and one way up/down but didn't find the magic combination - yet.
I will fool with driver side when I have time and figure out the wiring.
My manual passenger mirror is a lot better than the busted one however!
Looking for some info Biggg72 from what it looks in the pics it is possable to have heated single mirrors in a 98 eddie bauer. looking at a set but can't find proof other than what the seller says. but your pics show it is possiably
