I'm thinking about buying a 2000 Ford Expedition EB 4WD w/ all options including the 5.4 engine. It has been well taken care of w/ low miles for the yr(124k). I know someppl that have these trucks and they are very pleased with them. My question, is there anything I should look for before I make my final decision and if you already own or had own one what's your honest opinion. Thank you very much. Any input would be very grateful
As long as you have driven it and made sure everything is currently working, there isn't much else to do. No way to really predict how it will be from here, though most are great. Now just get the price down to current market value, should be around $6000 tops.
I drove it and everything works. I found that the heated seat on the driver side doesn't work but I don't care. The cd changer works too, well the changes but I didnt have a cd to see if it plays. Heat/air, 4wd, windows, etc. works.
What are they asking? I love mine and the previous[3-98,s] and my current is a 99 with the 5.4. We also have an 04, but Im partial to the first gen body style. Its like any other vehicle you buy used, it can run for another 200k or have a major repair bill 10 miles afterr you sign the papers. I bought this one at 118k and just turned 124k. I did a complete tune up and changed all of the fluids. If it feels good, go for it
Like everything else you buy, there is always a chance of something going wrong. Do they have the maintance records for it. Otherwise find out when the fluids were last changed and the trans serviced if possible. I really enjoy my 98 Expy and its done me well. It turned 136,000 last week and still runs great. $5000 for a 2000 seems like a decent price.
I thought the price was good. I had looked around and seen prices alot higher with more miles.. It took me a while to find one exactly the way I wanted. I have some maintainence records but imma have it serviced anyway.
