I have a ZF547 5 speed
I run the Mercrun synthetic ATF in it
I'ts a professional freshly rebuilt Tranny.
It's kind of loud
What type of other fluid could I run in it, I've heard of Royal purple and even straight 30 wt motor oil
Also I have a growling noise around 1000rmp when costing under no load, give it gas or push in on the clutch and it goes away
The old tranny made the same noise at the same RPM
I do have a South bend clutch and solid flywheel in it
Thanks
Yes the daul mass was swaped for a solid flywheel
It made the noise with the old tranny and a different solid flywheel,so I swaped everything out and still have the same noise

The reason the dual mass existed in the first place was to eliminate this noise that you're hearing. You are always going to have that noise with a single mass flywheel.
