ZF S5-42 Tranny Hydraulic to Manual CLutch Mod Questions

It really depends on what engine you have in front of the transmission, and if it has a mount for the Z bar. The ZF doesn't have a reinforced spot on the bellhousing to mount the Z bar like the 4speed bellhousings have, so it's a little bit more difficult. If you're using a diesel, you pretty much have to use a hydraulic setup.

Shouldn't be too hard. Just make some brackets for your z-bar pivots. I'd never do another z-bar in an '80-'96 though (if that's what this is going in). The frames flex so bad that it's not hard to find yourself in a situation where you need to downshift but with the clutch on the floor it's not getting enough travel at the fork to release, and you can't yank it out due to the load on the gears. Even if you could yank it out you'd never get it into the next gear.
