Nope.. We pulled the engine out every time.. This is the 4th.. My race engine builder buddy to me today that he has done some research and he said something about there being 2 different blocks and possibly 2 different seals.. Soo we may have the wrong seal in there.. I'll let ya know if I found out anything else..

something else.

When you check for oil leak. pull distributor and use a drill to pressure up engine oil psi. stick of 5/16 hex rod. See if something weird is going on at plugs at back. interesting problem and hope to learn something. Not sure what else to check. maybe a cracked thread at plugs or something?? what is your crank thrust? wondering if getting to much movement in crank possible thrust issue or seal area dia. worn? I just throwing rocks at it and curious to see what you find.

Yeah, all good ideas.. We did the drill already with a pressure gauge and we had 60-70 psi with no leaks.. It really seems like it doesn't leak with out the crank shaft rotating. But when the engine is running it really leaks bad.. Also thought about starting it up on the ground or engine run stand but it's a ford so we'd need a tradition case or at least a standard shift bell housing to boult the starter to.. The whole Brel housing area is wet with splatter.. It's got to be the rear main seal.. But why?? That's the question..
