hey all. I was changing my oil in my truck the other evening. I put 6 qts of brad penn 10-40 in. this is my first oil change in this truck because i bought it at the end of december and dont really drive it to much. i went to check the oil after a few days and the dipstick level was on the add mark. I was supprised. it does not burn or leak oil. the engine is a jasper 400 with only about 26,000 miles great oil pressure. I noticed when i opened the hood the next day i noticed someone wrote 7qts with a yellow paint stick on the underside of the hood. I did add one more quart and the dipstick read safe. any ideas. the manual says 6 qts. Im stumped. thanks
I'm aware of the 5-qt pan used on cars and the 6-qt pan on trucks, never heard of a 7-qt
pan, maybe such a thing was used on the F450+ trucks? Or perhaps an industrial
application?
