need help finding a shifter!!!
i have a 1998 f150 4x2 standard cab flare side, 4.6l with a 5 spd manual trans. i bought the truck a few years ago and i absolutely cannot find a replacement gear shifter for this. its got a 2 piece design but the top piece was broken off, so im workin with 5-6 inches of shifter stickin out of the floor. it makes for quick shifts while racin, but its a real pain in the back reachin to the floor while drivin daily to shift. Does anyone know of any 1 or 2 piece replacemens, im at my wits end! i've tried jc whitney, ford, summit, jegs with no luck.

The shift lever was a Ford Dealer part only...so you will not find it at an autoparts store or aftermarket parts supplier.
F65Z7210BB .. Upper Shift Lever / Obsolete
Fits: 1997/98 F150 & F250 (under 8500 lbs. GVW) w/a Mazda 5 Speed.
DOBBS FORD in Memphis TN has ONE = 901-362-6364.
ACADEMY FORD SALES in Laurel MD has ONE = 301-419-2700.
WATERVILLE FORD L/M in Oakland ME has ONE = 207-873-7193.
GREEN SALES CO. in Cincinnati OH has FIVE = 800-543-4959.
You may need additional parts, because...between the upper and lower shift levers are snap rings, washers, and other misc parts.
Ford used to sell a kit that included all these parts =

Fits Mazda 5 speed shift levers installed in F150/250's, Rangers and etc.

The shift lever was a Ford Dealer part only...so you will not find it at an autoparts store or aftermarket parts supplier.

1997/98 F150's, according to the 1990/2002 Ford Light Truck Parts Catalog / Manual Transmission Application Charts, says: Mazda 5 speed O/D.
The TRANS code is listed on the Certification Label: M = Mazda 5 Speed O/D.
Dealers today 'look up' parts for these "newer" vehicles by typing the VIN into their computer system. All the parts for this specific vehicle come up on the computer screen.
To be sure, run the VIN by your local Ford or L/M dealer, or...
