Floor Shifter - 1977 Ford F250 4x4 - C6

Has anyone put in an after market floor shifter in a Highboy. I currently have a column shifter, but I'm thinking of ditching it.

Pictures Please.

I have seen this posted before, most replies have been don't do it! I run a C6 and would spend my money on something that will have a performance benefit, but that's just me. I'm sure you'll hear more.
I see guys in cars holding on to automatic floor shifters faking it ! now that's funny

EDIT: Ahhh! Sorry, I did not see the Highboy part of your post. Well, this may not apply then...

Yep. I did it on my 75 F250. I have a mild built 460 with a C6 and absolutely hated having the shift lever on the column. I ended up installing a Hurst Quarter Stick - it was very easy to do and I am very happy with the results.

Now I have to make a cover for it and finish the interior. I ended up goint to the bone yard and picking up a collar for a column that was off a manual transmission truck and replaced the old deer antler looking thing with one that had no lever. Much cleaner looking steering column IMO.

Thanks for responding guys.

It actually is more of a logistical issue. Performance wise, I built the crap out of the C6 that is in the truck. I need a tilt column because at my height the steering wheel obstructs my view of the guages. It looks like it would actually be cheaper or a wash to put the shifter on the floor. I already have the transfer case shift on the floor. I wish they produced larger diameter aftermarket steering wheels, that would solve a lot of the problem in itself.

I have a B&M shifter in my 76 250 and it is easy install, slap type stick, has backup light switch, neutral safety switch, cover and all.

Works great and the cable is plenty long enough to mount anywhere you need it. Just throwing that out there for your info.No camera for pics.

I got it at Advance Auto for around 100$.

I already have over 10K miles on the set up and it is trouble free. Trav.

I am in the process of installing a lokar shifter in my 77 highboy. I ordered the 23 inch nostalgia shifter in black instead of chrome. It looks similar to a factory 4 speed stick.
