A word to the wise. After dismantling my dash, instrument panel, radio, etc. to remove the original vacuum motor, I installed the Vintique 6 volt motor. Other than having to cut off 2.5" of defroster duct on the driver's side, it bolted in easily and quick. BE WARNED, if you tighten the 2 mounting screws too tight, the drive shaft on the unit shears off when you turn it on to test. My mistake, but still frustrating and no warning. I am in the process of trying to see if a replacement shaft is available from Vintique. Otherwise I will try and dismantle and try and have shaft welded.
After installing the Newport 12 volt wiper motor in the stock location the installation of the stock radio in the dash was next . Well good luck on this one . The two are not compatible !!! This is on a '52 F-1 .

Reason: left out info
As both a follow-up and a clarification. The Vintique 6 volt wiper conversion was purchased from an online eBay retailer. When I tried to find a replacement drive shaft or other assistance I got nowhere. I called Vintique in Orange, California directly. Chad Looney responded quickly and provided the needed part, even though Vintique had no obligation to do so. Great Service!

The 51/52 trucks are different. The 48-50 trucks the radio is mounted up high on the center of the dash and there are two support braces behidnthe dash. These aren't there on the 51/52 trucks.
The 48-50 trucks the wiper motor, for both a single wiper truck and a dual wiper truck is moutned behind the instrument cluster. The 51/52 trucks its mounted in the center of the dash (at least the dual wiper motor is)
I mounted a stock '51-52 unit in my '49. The motor ends up right where the radio sits. I had to do a hack job to the wiper system to mount behind the dash, still haven't got it all worked out yet.
Bob,
I managed to scrounge around and come up with the correct 48-50 dual wiper linkage. Now I just need to fab up a 12V motor to the thing. I was toying with the idea of mounting the motor in the center of the dash like the 51/52 trucks as I'll probably mount a radio elsewhere.
Somewhere in the garage is a piece of plywood with the wiper posts and linkage bolted to it. If it rained more out here in the desert this would probably get pushed way up on the "to do" list........someday.....
