The wife and I have pretty much decided to write the sales people and see if there is any way for them to get the truck moved up some how. We got another letter saying that it isn't supposed to start being built until January 11th. After being built, QC, and shipping, IF it makes it to WA before I leave, it won't be very long before... If they can't get it moved up, we are considering cancelling the order and ordering another one later on before I come home next time. Maybe the 6.2 will be out by then...
Nope... I can wait till the truck shows up and if there is anything I don't like about it, I can walk away with 100% of my money... One of the garauntees they offer everyone over here because if is kinda unnerving buying a vehicle sight-unseen.
I still haven't decided whether or not we will take out money and run or not... I did write them and asked if there was anyway they could get it moved up in production (not likely, I know...) and told them I believed it is thier fault that it may not be done while I am home in January... because they sat on the order from Nov 18 until Dec 4. I think 16 days is a bit much...That would have made the difference in delivery at the beginning of January or the end. We'll see what they say.
I've got a update for you.
My truck showed up at the dealer sometime between when they closed Thursday at 9:00 pm and when they opened Friday morning.
So the time frame for my truck was I ordered it on Nov. 4th, it was built on Dec. 8th and delivered on Dec. 18th. So right around 7 weeks.
The funny thing is it was built at the KCAP plant and shipped to Troy Mi. a suburb to the north of Detroit. Try and figure that one out. At least I feel like I got my moneys worth for the $795 shipping charge.
But man was it dirty when I saw it Friday afternoon.
I'm picking it up Monday afternoon
Here's a little more insight ("Ford underestimated the popularity of the F-150 double-cab") in an article about shortages of certain Taurus models. These things happen from time to time.

If you have a VIN, read post 24. If you don't have a VIN, then talk to the dealer.
I think you're a troll looking for attention. If you ask the same question again...
