Developed a real bad tranny leak at the bellhousing, replaced front seal, was going to replace the pump seal, but didnt know how to get the pump out, can someone please tell me how to get to the pump seal so I can replace it? thankyou all very much 1992 f150 4x4 e4od
Surely you just you just remove the pump to trans bolts, lift the pump out, replace the seal and refit making sure any thrust washers are in place? Never done an E4OD front pump but I think, front pumps have remained the same for the last 40 years.
Someone correct me if I`m wrong.
thank you...was going to replace the pump seal when I had the tranny out,but it looked like the inside of the bellhousing was all 1 piece, I am assuming the pump is pressed in is why it looked like that, but I replaced the front seal and put the tranny in and it still leaks at a fast stream, so I have to pull the tranny back out and look at the pump o ring and the bushing, hopefully I'll find the problem, had it rebuilt about 20,000 miles ago and haven't had any problems until now, I just wanted to know if anything was going to come popping out that I need to watch for when I pull the pump
There must be bolts around the flange of the front pump as I have seen torque specs for them. Nothing should fall out but look for a thrust washer behind the pump.
