300,4.9L Header

Hi there,
where can I get 6 into 1 Headers for my `86 F-150 ? Would headers kill the low end torque of a 4.9 L machine ???

The only 300 six headers I have ever seen were the dual outlet/ dual collector set up. You can find them pretty easily in Jegs or Summit catalogs. Headers on the Ford six will most definately not hurt low end torque, in fact they increase it very noticably. My 84 F150 really came to life after installing headers and a good flowing exhaust system.

6 into one??? just stick with the manifold... i've got a set of hooker headers 3 into 1 that i just got finished sanding and painting, wouldent buy them new though just cost too much for the brand... i only paid 200 including paint... from what i've heard our motors do like a little back pressure but not quite as much as the stock manifold, dual cats on one pipe setup... i'm switching to true duals 3 into one with no cats, and cherrybomb glasspacks or possibly thrush glass packs with turndowns right behind the cab... if i have the time and money im gonna get some cutouts so i can open them up right at the headers... but i am also planning to do a Offenhauser dual plane intake and a 450ish CFM 4 barrel.... not exactly stock

keep us posted, its always cool to hear from somone tricking out these old sixes.... EVERYBODY builds a v8

Yeah I love seeing a warmed up inline six too, there is something cool about going against the grain (as I call it). That is the whole reason I am NOT putting a V8 in my 84 F150 restoration project... like everyone else does.
I had mine punched out .040" over, stock bottom end, mild RV cam, Offy DP intake, Edelbrock Thunder Series 500 CFM 4bbl, Hedman 3 to 1 headers, DUI HEI conversion. These motors really wake up just from a few bolt on mods. When I had my 84 F150 still on the road I had the same mods as mentioned above, but had a Holley 2bbl carb on it with the stock TFI ignition, I had no trouble tossing it sideways on dry pavement even with the 33 inch mudders! The worst ones where I live are those damn dirt track guys, they are nothing but a bunch of Chevy loving V8 zombies. If it doesn't have an SBC it's junk, some people's kids

I thought about headers for my 4.9 that go into a single exhaust system(straight,just thrush glasspacks) Do yoa call em 3 into 1 ?
Sorry. didn`t know that. Living in germany I`m thankful for every single clue you give me.
Keep em 6 pistons running !!!
