yeah me too. i bought a used superchips, it is vin locked. i use it to read codes, it says that it installed programing, i cant even really tell a big difference. i will have something new in the near future hopefully.

locked when i bought it, i think it is still programing though. right??????

No tuning going on if it is locked.

it says vin locked, but i can still choose between 3 programs and it takes about 5 min to install em. i can tell a diff between tow, and tow-perf.

what would i need to do, i bet superchips would want a fortune to unlock it.

i would call dp and see what they can do.hopefully they can hook you up. i dont like supercheps like i stated.

I a newbie for PSD's, for PHP Phoenix, for example, when they say "25hp Extremely heavy tow" what do they mean by 25HP? is that above what the stock level is? in my mind i would think it would be more HP than that like the 80HP light tow? I am just trying to understand these tuners because i'd like to get a PHP Phoenix for my PSD.

yes, on tuners the HP rating is that much more HP over stock...which can mean different things in different year trucks because the stock HP varies.

In tow settings, they put more emphasis on how the tranny shifts, etc...for a safer tow tune...doesn't mean more HP.

It will say vin locked when it locks into your truck. So it is working, but I will tell you that the top setting on SC is not even close to the economy setting on my DP. But, as far as your Super Chips, it's working.
