Anybody have any feedback on using Hypertech Programmer to increase performance on 4.6L V-8? Can you just take it in to a Ford dealer & have them boost the computer and get the same results? Would like some input before I shell out over $300 for programmer.
No, a Ford dealership will not do it. The Hypertech programmer falls short of most chip offerings because it doesn't reprogram the timing advance except at near wide open throttle. We looked at carrying them at one point but couldn't justify selling a product for $100 more than we sell chips for when it did less for performance.
Your message intrigued me because I have not been happy with the bang for the buck I got with my Hypertech programmer III... yeah my truck is a little stronger but I expected more.
What is the best (most HP & Torque gain) chip I can get for my truck. Will I feel a difference from the HYP Prgmmr III? Pls see mods done & expected below. If I go with a chip I'd like to be able to switch it back to stock with switch instead of pulling the chip.
Is it worth "custom programming" a chip with the mods I've done so far... or will a stock ship be enough?
