How to tell if my truck has the TPMS installed?

How can I tell if my F350 has the TMPS? It's an early Job 1, built in Jan '07, F350 SRW King Ranch... I've never seen any indication that it has this, otherwise the truck is loaded...

Thanks,

I thought all vehicles from the 2007 model year had to have the tpms.
Not sure what the GVW cutoff is though.
How about lookin in your owners manual.

I have a 2009 XLT 350. When I brought it home, I found a small white remote with a green button in the glove compartment. It was labeled as the tpms learing tool. If you did not get one of them, then I guess you can always take some air out of one of the tires and see if a light comes on. lol

Before you start your truck next time , check your dummy lights,,, dash cluster right before you turn the engine to start, do you see any yellow icon indicators representing a flat tire. It would be yellow. That is the setup in my 2009 350 XLT. Once the truck is started the light should go out, if the tires are inflated properly.

Hope that helps out.

Thanks. I'll read the book too. I don't have the tool you mention so maybe I don't have it?

Have you ever rotated your tires? You would have to re-learn the tpms sensors if you do, you would get an indication from the truck.

Haven't rotated. That's why I'm asking. Bought the truck back in June and I'm needing to now. I don't see any indication on the dash when the key is on.

Haven't read the book yet.

the manual says 'if equipped'

so u may need to do the vin to door sticker thing.. mine (used 08 F350) doesn't have it..

add your vin, and remove the extra space at // in this url

I don't think it was installed on the heavier truck yet in early 07. I have a F150 Heavy Half and don't have them on mine either and mine was also built in 01/2007.

No dash light when you turn the key on, no indication of the light opening in the dash and I just put my snow tires on last month without TPMS in them and everything is normal.

Thats interesting, it was not optional equipment for mine, came standard (I did pick all the options for mine and only what I needed). Mine actually came on pretty quick as the dealer didnt have enough pressure in em (I hear they air em down under spec so they ride a bit nicer when you test drive em). I wonder if maybe becasue you have duals? Would they be different for dullies?

Edit: Oh I was thinking you had an 09... maybe they were opt in 08 then std in 09?

no idea.. bought used.. doesn't say anything the window sticker..
would like a system with actual pressures, not just light. We have this on our suburban, and just an idiot light on the nissan which seems to be on all the time for some reason..

In MY 2007, Ford put TPMS into half tons. Even the F150 with the heavy duty payload package didn't get those until 2008. Even with that, I think it was late in the MY 2008 before all SD trucks got them.

A way to find out would be to call your local Ford parts counter and ask them to look up the sensors based on your VIN. Nothing should show.

Just let some air out of one of the tires and see if the light comes on.

Dont forget you need to drive it first to get it to trigger. Just letting the air out and turning it on the system wont be active yet. Its got to come up to a certain speed (which I forget the exact number, just get to highway speed and you should be good).
