Cruise Control Acting up

I was driving up a hill pulling an empty trailer when all of a sudden my cruise control kicks out. I tried to re-engage it, only to have it turn back off half a second later. I kept trying and it did the same thing.

Once I stopped, loaded the trailer and headed back, I thought I'd try it again, and it worked. And it stayed on with no problems.

Does anyone know why this is?

I have noticed in numerous cars and trucks of mine, that if you lose enough speed with cruise control on, it will disengage itself.
I haven't had it happen on my 08 f150, but i have an a few previous f150's.

What year truck do you have? Do you have the floor shifter? (I guess its more of a shifter between the seats). If you have the shifter between the seats, it is the park/neutral switch causing it.

At least thats what it was on my 04 F150 with the floor shifter. Works fine when cold, and would kick off with heat.

Could be a faulty BOO, Shift Interlock Switch, or bad Steering wheel switches. Could also be a faulty radio....
