I have read some post on this but was unable to get mine working. I have an 01 with the 6 speed. I had just put in the speedwizard to change my speedo for my 37's. I ran the truck down the road with cruise on to set the box and it worked fine. Then i went back home put the speedwizard on some Velcro and attached under the steering column and zip tired the wires up and out of the way. Put the cover back on and now i got no cruise control. So i tested the horn after reading about the spring and my horn works fine every time and the lights light up on the steering wheel. Then i tried starting the truck with out pushing in the clutch and it wouldnt start. I have my trailer behind my truck and the trailer brakes are working fine so i assume its not the brakes sensor kicking in. Is there a double part to the clutch switch that might be bad where it kills my cruise but not the no start? Thanks
If the springs are broken inside the clutch position switch, then yes it can kill the cruise and still not start unless the clutch is pushed in. Pull the CPP off and take a look at the springs. That should tell you all you need to know.
i pulled it off and it looks ok. Here are two pics of it. Its got an electrical brass piece that seems like its not allowing the spring to go all the way forward. is this right
Both springs look good. I do get a compleat cercit between two of the connectors in the middle of the plug. Im assuming that this is not my problem but it is somewhere else.
