Changing the fuel filter

Gonna change the fuel filter and was wondering if its ok to fill the filter with ATF? Its not a big deal if its stained red.

Yeah, ATF is ok to use. My friend just woke up a 6.9 from a 7 year slumber and said the filter change with ATF in it really perked it up.

Changed the filter out today. The difference was VERY noticeable. Just have to barely blip the throttle now and the truck takes right off. I did fill it with ATF. When it first started it seemed like the motor was surging, but i drove it around the mile and it seems fine now. What a difference btwn a 8yr old filter and a new one lol
