That's what I was hoping to find out - date of manufacture. I thought maybe someone would know how to interpret that. It's a 2001 truck with less than 55K on it so I was thinking this might be the original filter.
That one has "Motorcraft" on the side, which is something I've never seen on a factory filter. I could be wrong of course, but I think it's been changed at least once based on that.
