1st title bad really need help with this
Yesterday when I left work, she started right up but stalled about a block later. had a tough time getting her restarted and only went another b4 she died and would not restart.I noticed about a week ago that the fuel guage was getting weird and researched it here. My selector switch has been grounding out and is evidently dead. when i check it with a meter I get 10-11 volts if I check power, but can't get anything over 1 when I check switch terminals.
Could my selector switch be stuck in no man's land so I'm not getting fuel from either tank? I've checked the schrader valve for pressure and the batteries both read 12+, but when I try to start it the starter clicks really loud. How many issues do you think I have? Is it the switch or something with the starter or both?

Three of them are for the fuel gauge, two for switching tanks.
When you switch tanks, the polarity of the power is reversed causing the valve to switch the other way.
I seem to have lost the wiring notes I had.

Welcome to FTE and the IDI diesel forum.
So on the stock fuel selector valve connector,
Pin 1 is away from the fuel line end of the valve.
Pin 1 & 2 are the wires from the selector switch that swap hot and ground to run in opposite directions.
Pin 3 goes to the front tank sending unit
Pin 4 goes to the fuel gauge
Pin 5 goes to the rear tank sending unit.
