Ok, heres the story....Friday morning truck wouldnt start, just clicked, wouldnt jump, crawled under and jumped the starter, worked fine....replaced starter and solenoid, everything worked fine. Later on sat the gauges started jumping all over and batt light came on and off, lound noises from pully or alt, so replaced them both, all nice and quiet but then batt light stayed on all the time, replaced volt reg fuse, batt light went out and showed all is well on teaster, seemed fine.....but now truck wont start, clicks like on friday but can go under and jump like before. Batt is charged jumping the batt has no effect...cables are all new and clean.....where do I look next?

I would take your battery in and have it tested. I think you have a short or you have corrision at the battery terminals so be sure to clean the posts. If you can, swap in a different battery and see what happens.
Thx Dan,
I am hoping that is what it is. the terminals are pristine and sprayed and tight, cables have all been replaced and in nearly new condition. I am thinking perhaps a cable corroded beyond terminals and that I didnt even need to replace the starter? Whats is troubling is that after replacing the starter it worked fine for a day and now seems to be doing the same thing, I dont think its the batt because with a good solid jump it doesnt even make a tiny difference and when I jump the starter from underneath I have really good spark and power from my battery and it fires up in 2 secs.
Thanks for everyones help, I will take it in to be tested mon morn, thinking I have a bad cable or something down under??
Thx to all that helped....fyi...it was the ground wire from neg battery terminal to firewall, never even needed the new starter...."doh" !!! Oh well too late now....$300 vs 5cents, lol
Ok, so that sloved the problem for a few days the the "dreaded click" again. seems it is probably my main battery cable harness corroded throughout. The F150 has two leads coing from the battery and one of them goes straight to the starter, after bypassing that cable everything worked and started fine so i will be installing a new harness this weekend.
