When I was looking at a new trans, I researched suncoast and BTS. Since they were the closest "big names" for transmissions near me at the time.
To get what I needed/wanted It was more expensive to go with Suncoast the BTS back when I was looking. Brian offers the BEST warranty Ive ever seen and his trans are holding up to some high hp trucks. After I spent a while reading around and talking to both of them over the phone, I wanted/needed a BTS. (John Woods is too far for me)
I ended up haveing to get one locally since I needed my truck back on the road ASAP. But if I ever need another one, Im going with BTS or John Woods. In my opion they are the best 4r100 trans option around for the money.
Put the "brother" back in the Brotherhood. Do we need to put y'all in a corner?
Someone want to criticize my decision to do my own rebuild/or the way I did it? J/K, guys!
I here you under produce, the wty su??s, and you have No SCOOBY SNACKS, JK Roland

Quite the contrary! I envy your abilities, and will very likely try to replicate them if/when I need a trans. With over 190K, I never know....
I already have the ASTG book, and have read it through twice. I suspect my truck knows this, as I keep it in my center console, and the truck doesn't want to start something with me. Hence, it keeps ticking flawlessly.
I'll be leaning on a couple of the Brothers for advice when this time comes, and you're one of them!
I did an option that you didn't list. "DIY" I learned alot about these transmissions that way. I have had great results, logging over 30,000 trouble-free miles since the rebuild with TC, clutches, and VB upgrades. The only thing I need to do is drill out a hole, in the accumulator VB separator plate, for the third gear shift to firm it up a bit more. It's on my current "to do" list.
Roland, Who's rebuild kit did you use when you rebuilt yours? I've seen a 50/50 mix on the Monster Transmission's. I have to assume the bad's were all replacement trans and not their rebuild kits. I've seen kits from Precision, Transtar, Edge Racing Converters, Suncoast, Monster, Transtec, Alto, Transgo, Sonnax...
