TIRE SIZES!!!!!!!

I was looking to go one size up on tires on my 05 F250. THe recent call I placed to my tire guy he told me not to do it b/c of ABS issues. Has anyone done this??? if so do you have any problems? My stock tires size is 265/70/R17 any advice is appreciated!

going up overall width and height dimensions within a millimeter or so is really no big deal, although I'm sure some will tell you not to do it, personally I've always went up to the next size that was available with no ill effects as a matter of fact right now I'm actually going down from 275/70/18 too 285/65/18 a little wider and shorter can't find snow tires in the original size or any decent Winter tire for that matter for my F350 the original's tires Continental's are useless even in the rain LOL. The only issue could be if your spare is that much shorter it could give you some problems when you have a flat I usually do all five tires a little more money but you never have to worry about being out of wheel radius for the ABS take care

I'm getting my 04 reflashed with my new tire size 285/70R17 (33"x11.50"). Should be able to do that to your 05.

You can go to 285/70/17" with no problem,,,,only issue maybe 285's seem to be only D load range tires for some reason,,,I have a set of Hankook Dyna-Pro MT 285/70/17" on my 06' F-350,,studded,,,for winter driving,,Awsome traction(just put them on yesterday,,pics in gallery)in mud and snow,,,I push a 9' Fisher plow,,,sometimes I have to drive up on Curbs, to plow a sidewalk,,,these tires have held up well,,,only being load range D,,,,I do not however carry a sander in my bed,,so the weight is not an issue,,,I do however have sand,(in buckets),,tools,,gas/diesel, etc,,in the Cap on my truck,,which normally weighs around 7800 lbs without the plow or sand.

I went with the 17" tires, purchased a set of 07' F-250 wheels,,takeoffs,(they fit the F-350 no problem),,Because the 18" tires are Big $$$,,and I did'nt really find any tread I liked,,,Agreed the Continental tires,,,just dont cut it for anything but a dry road!!
