ok so i did my ccv mod the other day which i bought from clay. man he shure did a great job putting that kit together. so i got the stinky smell now. i was thinking bout extending the tube back to the rear but i looked on guzzles and they showed how to build an oil trap which may cut down on alot of the smell. befor i waste my time building one i was checking to make shure that thing is going to be safe. or in other words not restrict the blow off and build up too much pressure..... and cause a leak or harm anything. so would this be a good thing todo or has anyone
done anything diffrent.
I would be careful in running the hose back to the rear axle not to create a low spot (like a "P" trap below a sink) that would collect oil and block off the air passage to the exit.. Just run the end of the hose into a plastic bottle with vents in the lid to collect the oil.. Mine works great.. I empty mine about once every 2 months..
The only way to get rid of the stink and not get oily boots is to build a trap, but then route it back into the intake in the stock manner. I'm about to do this myself. Just because I feel like getting rid of the cloud that comes out from under the back of my truck. I have it run to the back axle and don't have an issue with smell, just tired of the cloud. LOL

Me too.
I've had my CCV mod for over 5 years now venting to the driver's side wheel well. It has never once given me issues, but after 5 years, I'm tired of catching a whiff every now and then.
Cross my fingers, I might have time this week to finally build my CCV trap, and re-route it back to the intake.
im running rotella t great options guys im aware of not making a "p" trap in my line like plumbers say "**** falls down hill" haha but the smell and the cloud i would like to get rid of fo sho.... but from what ive read it ant gunna happen.. but is the trap safe and dose it help any?????
10- 4 well a few of yall were talking about re routing it back into the intake to rid the smell. how are you palnning on doing that and not getting any oil in your ic boots etc. i know the ccv mod fixes that prolbem but if you run it back in the intake whats the point of the mod????
well i would be very intersted in how you would go about doing this. really on building ur trap where it would mount and how it would all tie together.
OK.. So now I am kinda mad.... I just spent ALL day today taking all my pipes and I/C out and making them spotless, and now you guys are talking about clouds and stenches when I do this mod... Just how bad is the smell?? and also what kind of "cloud" are we talking about?? I don't want to drive around looking like Linus off of Charlie Brown....
