dually axle
dually axle
ok so not to long ago i bought a dually axle from a craigslist add but it came off a cab n chassis truck And the real reason i picked it up knowing it wasnt going to be a direct bolt on was because it was the same gearing and i got it for $100 bucks n i am going to be puttin it on a regular 4dr so i know i have to weld on new mounts but anyone have any tips on how to go about gettin the right measurements ?

A cab and chassis frame is 34" wide and has 2.5" wide springs.
A SRW frame is 37.5" wide and has 3" wide springs.
Both of the axles are exactly the same width from back plate to back plate, so if you move the spring perches, you will have an axle exacly like you have now.
Dually axles are 4" wider from back plate to back plate, the dually frame is 37.5 wide and uses 3" rear springs.
Sorry, but the cab and chassis axle will not let you run duals on a SRW truck.
SRW axle length is 53.75" backplate to backplate.
Dually axle length is 57.75" back plate to back plate.

hmm well ima have to go measure the axle i have with the numbers im getting ... if im not mistaken when i got the axle i measured it and i think it was longer then what i already had ...
When you measure, the backplates have some high and low places.
Make sure you are in the same location on both axles.
And as usual, CRS is acting up, don't remember if my measurements were on high spots or low spots for sure, but I think high for some reason.
