Here's a vid of my truck earlier this year. I have tons of mods, but when I gutted my EBPV this sound followed. It was NEVER this loud till I did that.
cody your truck sounds awsome, im taking out the butterfly for the valve my next day off, do you or anyone have a picture of the plugs that i need to shove in there when i remove the butterfly? are they called freeze plugs? and should my local hardware shop have them?
You could probably shove some freeze plugs in there, but cody welded his up IIRC. i want to take the butterfly out of mine, but there is just no point b/c i don't want this dumb turbo anymore... haha.
taking the butterfly out definitely made a big sound difference on codys truck. thing sounds wicked now!!! haha
I took the EBPV housing off the turbo and ground down the boss' that held the butterfly shaft. I made it look like it was never there. Then I welded the holes closed and ground down the welds where it's nice ans smooth inside and out. But I believe you can just use a 5/8 freeze plug. You'll only need one if you don't knock the top one out. But I don't know how that will affect the sound. Good luck to you man.
Man Cody I love your truck, especially that hood. There are some times that I hate my red paint cuz it so dam expensive. I've got 2 different quotes that were each over $1000 to paint hood and blend color into fenders and that's including the price ofthe hood. And I think my truck coo's too but I k ow for a a fact that it woooahhh's real loud when the womens sittin up front lol.
