I did not make it out to his ranch, but I did send him the picture and he said that he doesn't think any of the trucks out there have one. I'll head down there and check for sure sometime soon. He may have one and just not remember what it looks like.

projectdagger - yes these are rare - ranger429 could probably tell you more about them and how rare they are. I"m guessing most of them were optioned on the Ranger Lariat trucks or Broncos. I have only seen one of them in real life on a truck, which is in the town i live but the guy won't sell it! Probably becuase he owns the Ford dealership and knows just how rare the antennas are. If ya see a truck with one of them on it, make the owner a deal for me and let me know.

There's an F250 Supercab down the street from where I live rotting alongside a cornfield - I'll take a walk out there tomorrow and see if it's got that antenna.

I never heard of a "factory" CB antenna.

They are very rare. The one on my Bronco I got on ebay a few years ago. It was a complete NOS antenna kit.

You'll know if it is for the CB, it is the only antenna they had back then that had a black base as shown in the picture.

i did not know for sure if the black might have disappeared over time. This makes wish i had a digital camera. Because this has a skinny base then widens for a spring then right above the spring there is what looks like 2 small screw, as it narrows back down towards the antenna mast itself. I was thinking that it was just a replacement antenna mast from a radio shack or something. The other matching one is over in the local wrecking yard. When i saw the second one, it kind of made me think that maybe it was a factory antenna.

If there is any type of a spring on it that would be an aftermarket antenna.

Ok, time to "refresh" this post since I"m still LQQKING for this piece. Someone told me these would also be found on the '78-79 Mercury Grand Marquis / Lincoln Towncars, etc. Probably more CB's installed in the cars than trucks / Broncos I was told.

Is there any good ol' vehicle salvage yards near anyone that I could call. I'm not giving up the hunt until one of these things makes it to my hands! lol Any help is appreciated fellow Ford truck nuts! Thanks!

Still on my list of things to look at anytime I see one of these trucks sitting, but I've not found you one yet.
