Factory CB antenna

Been on a hunt lately for a factory CB antenna for my '78 Crew. I found one in my town here on a '79 F150 Ranger XLT Lariat 2WD project truck right now, but the owner is reluctant to part with it I have posted a wanted ad in the Classifieds here but no responce so i'll try here (sorry mods). If you don't know what the factory CB antenna looks like, Ranger429 has pics in his gallery of one. I'm looking for just one antenna, either from a junkyard or NOS. I'm about to start calling all the junk yards in the USA that have old trucks, but I was hoping everyone here could help me out. Let me know what you find. There could be a finders fee involved if one in great working condition is found! BTW: i've tried all the major NOS parts providers and none are found.

Smile RE: CB Antenna

Hi there,
Had seen your post about looking for the factory CB antenna. My 78 F250 also has this factory option. I have a regular stainless antenna mast right now and the CB works. It picks up, but doesn't transmit. They figured it was in the mic. Bought a set of factory foglights from a fellow in Tipp City, OH. He has wrecked hundreds of these trucks and has alot of nos parts and used. I have talked to him and was also looking for the CB antenna and other parts. He figured he had some but doesn't like to get back to you right away, to busy I guess?. His email address is tcas9511@hotmail.com . His phone number is 937-414-7985 , he has his son or somebody selling parts on ebay all the time. That is how I met him. I was wanting to talk to him because I think I need that CB/radio splitter box that mounts on the RH side under the dash that the antenna lead plugs into the bottom and the CB antenna lead plugs into the top side of it beside the radio antenna lead. I have no AM reception and intermitten FM. Figured it has to be antenna itself or the box. Let me know how you make out. Take care. Kelley.

While He does part out and sell a lot of NOS stuff I don't think he knows what a real CB antenna looks like. He had a listing once for a regular antenna and claimed it was for a CB. I told him it wan't for the CB setup but he informed me that it was. I happen to have an NOS antenna so I knew what they looked like.

ya, i know what they look like too so don't worry that someone will pull the wool over my eyes! lol I see one on a truck parked at our local ford dealer but the truck is a project truck that belongs to the owners son and i'm sure they won't part with that piece. So I keep hunting.........
I sent the guy an email - we'll see what he says ......

Any chance someone has a pic of one so I know what to look for? I have a friend with several of these old trucks out on his ranch and there is a decent chance that one may have it. I can pretty much get whatever I need off any of the old rigs out in his "junkyard" so if you have a pic I'll have a look and see what I can find.

My friend said he may have one. I'm on my short week, only work three days this week so I'll head down to his ranch towards the end of the week and see what he has. If he has it then it's yours.
