I just changed my fuel filters after a trip through Illinois and where they commonly use bio without it being marked on the pump. My truck ran like s#@*. The horizontal one has always given me problems, what with the cap being close to the wire bundle. I decided to pull the wire bundle plug, which holds the wires to the frame, and pulled the plug out of the frame and put a pull tie around it and got it out of the way. After draining my fuel out of the filter, (about 14 oz's comes out nicely in a Lucas Fuel Treatment bottle) I changed her out without getting any diesel on me. Best filter change so far. I noticed the new filters, and they worked nicely.

I run 99% all summer, no problem. A truck that only gets bio every tank or so will have to change filters more! Bio will clean tank and send it to filter! If your truck has alot of miles with straight Diesel you will now have to change filters more due to the Bio, then it will go back as it was!
