I have L&L headers on my 78, they are really well put together and no leaking problems because of the big thick flanges. My system is the same as " Blow'n 331" described his. I went with 3" straight back to a regular muffler on each side and dumped just infront of the rear spring hanger. Tucked it up along the frame rail and ran a cross-over by the transfer case. Nice and clean, not cooking your starter or notching frame rails.

Hey 75F350 What type of coating did you use on your frame? Sorry I know this is off the topic.

Do you have any pictures of the cross over ? Did you make it like an H pipe ?

When you do the fender exits do you put the plastic fender well splash guards back in or do you have to leave them out ? What are the pros and cons of fender exit headers l V-S Chassis Exit headers ?

On the cross over, it is exactly the same as an H-pipe, just to equalize the pressure between both sides so when you are coasting down hill, etc., you will have less back popping. I just notched the metal inner aprons alittle for clearance and ran the plastic splash shields. Will try to post some pictures, but you could look at my album under my name. Take care. Kelley.

Plastic inner fenders stay in. I like the fenderwell exit because it keeps the area between the frame rails a little more open, its easier to get to the starter etc. Exhaust is super easy with fender well exits, nothing needs to be bent, you can just make it yourself plus its a lot easier to keep both sides of dual exhaust the same length. Exhaust heat is kept away from the transmission and transfer case. I don't see anything bad bout them, l love em!
