My friend has an 05 6 litre and it wont start. He checked the computer and siad that it says the cam position sensor is bad. How hard is it to replace? I havent been able to find a "how to" link. Any help would be appreciated.
Many time the cam sensor code is a result, not a cause. You can get a cam sensor code any tine the vehicle stalls.
Location: hidden behind p/s pump driver side. Held in by a 8mm bolt. It is very long. You need a 1/4 inch drive ratchet w/ an 8mm socket and a long extension.

It can be easily done from underneath with an 8mm flexhead gearwrench without taking anything else loose. Just did mine a couple of weeks ago. I will only come out one way. You might want to check for a broken o-ring causing an oil leak into the electrical connector. That was my issue with intermittent signal and two CMP codes, I believe.

Tim, Did you clean the connector and install new O ring or replace the whole thing?
