I need a new grille shell and I know I can get one from LMC but I am skeptical of the aftermarket stuff. It rarely fits well and I want it to look right. I read here somewhere of someone who makes one that fits.. anyone tell me who that is and if they have a website.....ialso need a new front bumper. Thanks
I got a shell from lmc and it fit pretty good but the chrome was too expensive so i got the stainless and it turns out a whole stainless grill shell looks like crap. if given the choice spend the extra money and go with chrome

Last I heard about Dennis Carpenter was that he was going to start making them again in about four months, that was a couple of months ago.
It was something about he couldn't find the correct aluminum and now had a supply.
So maybe in a couple of months we can start getting decent grill shells again.

I hope so too. DC grills are very nice, when they have them. Very expensive, but if you have a nice truck you don't want to put a piece of crap grill on there, but coughing up over $600 for one is hard to do.
well the ones at LMC aren't exactly cheap. I don't mind spending the money if it means no regrets and less headaches. Cheap usually is more expensive in the end.
I just got the most recent LMC catalog a couple days ago and it says in there that they now have them in aluminum. I also have a recent dennis carpenter one and it doesn't say anything about them not being available. I'm going to need one in a couple months so I'm definetly interested in this thread. There has been 2 sold on ebay recently that were NOS still in the wrapper, but they've sold for over $700 each, plus over $100 to ship. That's a little much imo.
tell you what. if youre willing to wait untill mid december, you can send me $50 and a little extra for shipping, and ill get you a stock grille off of a 76. ill even polish it up for ya. btw, the $50 is for the grille, not for me.
does anyone have any pics of trucks with a painted grille and bumper... I wonder what that would look like. I could just fix mine and paint it. IDK i'd like to see someone who has done this
