2006 turbo lag

I am looking for inexpensive way to get rid of turbo lag. (under $300) Seems to be 3 to 4 seconds of nothing when you hit the gas. I know diesels have hesitation but this seems bad at times. Hard pulling out in busy traffic. Any recommendations? Thanks

I had the same problem with my 06. i just bought it 2 months ago and hated it... i have since installed a programmer wich did not help all that much, but now...

i installed a 4" turbo back exh. and as soon as i backed out of the driveway after installing them i knew it was way better. Greatly improved throttle responce and feels like it is way more responsive...

Just my .02

might be a little over 300 bucks but not as much as you might be thinking...

Two things you can do for under $300. Mod the EGR up-pipe but it requires an SCT to prevent CEL or codes. FICM tuning with either Power Hungry Performance or Innovative Diesel.

If you want the turbo to spool up quicker then you need to increase exhaust flow at low speed.

Removing that scoop in the EGR up-pipe will allow MORE flow to the turbo at all speeds!
