I Need Some Help I Just Returned My 06 To Stock Was Having Some Problems With A Tune, The Tow Tune Had Too Much Smoke, High Egt, And Bad Lag With Smoke From A Stop With A Load. So I Returned It To Stock, I Am Having A Hard Time Remembering The Original Turbo Lag, It Seems To Fall On Its Face If I Hammer It From A Dead Stop Until The Turbo Spools Up At 2000 Rpm Then Runs Great Is This Normal Or Should I See Ford ??
It Is About 2 Seconds Then It Will Pull Hard Gets A Little Spooky Crossing The Road With A Load Or Even Empty When You Stand On It And It Does Nothing For A Couple Of Seconds, Does This Sound Right ?
Ditto for full stock turbo lag. I have learned (with associated pucker factor) not to just jump out into traffic. The other gotcha is that - depending on the road, etc. - I can spin the tires enough to get a real serious look on my face. Definitely a small learning curve here.
With my mods and set to high I still even have a lag. BUT with the mods when she kicks she kicks REAL HARD. Lights them up and gets squirrelly!! I've learned not to show off on a turn!! Way bad lesson there!! lol Needed a change of shorts.
2 sec sounds right, my new tune helps cut the lag to 1.5 sec...
Turbos are funny, I'll floor it and nothing will happen. The EGTs will build and black smoke bellows and then BANG! the boost hits, EGT climbs some more and now your criminally speeding...
Thanks Guys For All The Input. You All Put Me At Ease I Was Hoping That I Didn't Have To See Ford Because Fear That They Will Reflash My Truck With The California Opitional Smog Flash
